900 Global Chemical X Awesome ball for med-heavy oil. 4000 grit very easy to get through the front with oil if it is dry you will need to polish. 900 Global Chemical X is a great ball for arsenal and most tougher oil patterns.

The Chemical-X is a very interesting ball for me. This is one of the smoother overall balls in the new lineup from 900 Global. It comes at 4000 OOB and that allows the ball to read a bit in the oil, but it still has a tame downlane ball reaction while retaining good hitting power. I think this ball will be great on tougher lane conditions. When your angles have to be smaller, and you need to keep the ball in front of you, the Chemical-X will allow you to have a predictable ball reaction. Overall, just a really solid benchmark ball when the lanes do not give you a lot of miss room.

From 900 Global, the Chemical X is a supurb ball for the flatter, medium conditions you'll most likely encounter at tourneys. It also performs well on broken-down THS when you need to trudge through the spotty over/under conditions, smash the pocket and still continue through the pocket. Very reliable, predictable motion off the backend and is smooth to boot! Would also recommend this ball for some down-&-in action on a medium-heavy fresh pattern.

WOW does this ball look great going down the lanes. The yellow and black color scheme is like nothing else on the market. This thing really turns heads and performs just as well. This ball has a lot of cover on it but the lower differential allows this ball to be in play on multiple conditions. This ball is going to be great for tournament play on fresh back ends. Used this ball on 40ft Nationals pattern up 1st arrow to break the pattern in. This ball reads the midlane great and is very predicable off the end of the pattern. Would suggest putting a little polish on this ball to use on THS. This will get the ball through the fronts cleaner and allow for moves to the middle of the lane. Great looking solid symmetric ball by 900 Global!

Summary: The Chemical X was drilled with the pin under my bridge and the CG stacked with no extra hole.
What surprised me about this ball was the smoothness that it had. The ball comes with a 4000 grit factory finish and looking at the ball you may think that it is one that would tend to hook early. This couldn’t be far from the truth. This ball is really clean through the fronts and from there I would consider the motion magical. It reads the middle and then makes a subtle, arcing motion back towards the pins. After my initial practicing with this ball, I think this is going to be one of my go to balls on short patterns as well as when there is a lot of fresh back end hook.

Me on a THS: I normally throw about board 15 to 7.

Drilling: Pin just above the index finger and the CG kicked out about 5 o’clock from there. It is about a 3 inch pin.

This ball is a smooth roller that is excellent for a step down off of the DREAM line. It is smooth through the heads with significant mid-lane roll and an aggressive finish. The first time I used this ball I had the back 9 in a row. Extremely predictable and will not over hook. It is the perfect ball for the transition because it will still make the turn back to the pocket with little requirement for you to force it off the friction point. You can throw this ball and trust that it will turn and carry the corners.

The ball works as good as it looks you are sure to turn heads not only with its color scheme, but with the numbers you put up as well. I highly recommend this ball to anyone who has not learned the importance of a transition ball. It is not going to do much on the heavy oil of a fresh pair of lanes, but the ball will most certainly perform in game 2 when the oil has transitioned down lane your competition is lost.

I highly recommend this bowling ball for a league player and a competitor alike. It is very versatile and easy to use for all skill levels.

Ball was used during our local association tournament on a surface with a lot of friction and this particular White pattern played very wet/dry from the start. After practice and watching others struggle with finding a motion to smooth out the wet/dry, I used the Chemical X to do just that. The ball gives a very predictable, controlled motion and does not overreact if thrown in the dry. The ball reads the mid-lane very well and has a very continuous motion through the pins which improved the carry for me drastically. All in all, as others have said, this is a great benchmark ball and can be used on a multitude of oil patterns.

Chemical X - if you liked the Favorite you'll love the Chemical X! Drilled it pin up, 5 x 4, cg inside grip, left it in out of box 4000 surface. This one is a touch smoother than the Favorite for those who remember that gem and it's reaction. Revs up but smooth off the spot but really finishes through the pins. Was impressive for a ball with surface. Really did hold its revs and stay consistent no matter any differences in release. Impressed with the versatility of the ball. Could use it on THS for all 3 games 701 1st night. Deeper I moved ball still cornered enough to carry. This is easily a benchmark ball or 1st out of the bag. Excellent bang for the buck here. Don't let the S55 cover number fool you, its aggressive enough for medium to heavy depending on speed. Would love to see this in a pearl version! I tip my hat to 900 Global on this nugget.

Need a ball for a heavy oil tournament or a slick league night? Look no further than the CHEMICAL X! This ball gives me ALL the hook and then some that I need on those types of conditions. With the amount of surface this ball comes out of the box with it surprisingly clears the heads effortlessly. This ball reads the mids and allows me to create the angle and play a part of the lane no other ball allows me to play. With the way the Chemical X reads the mid lane no carry is sacrificed make this the go to ball for slicker lane conditions.

I drilled this one with the pin above middle cg kicked out at a 45 degree angle. I did polish it to give me a little more length. This ball is one of the smoothest pieces not only in the 900 global line up but on the market. I was looking for something for shorter less volume patterns and this ball is perfect for it. This ball and layout allow me to play the twig when needed or stay more direct on a burnt house shot. Any tournament bowler needs to consider putting one of these in there bag.

REVIEW:

This is one of the most SMOOTHEST and one the ROLLIEST balls I have ever thrown. This is definitely a ball you would want to use on the fresh. This ball allows me to play straighter more on the track part of the lane, and when you have to start adjusting to the transition you wont have to make big moves. You will be able to make small moves with your feet, along with tighter lines toward the pocket. This ball will be in my bag for every tournament I go to, a simply must have for the tournament bowler

About the Bowler

Layout: 40 x 4 1/2 x 50

This is a unique piece for this seasons line up. When I first saw the core/cover numbers of this release I was curious where it would actually stand reaction wise. I never had a Favorite before but was a huge fan of the King Cobra. With that being said I based my review against the King Cobra and Breakdown.

OOB the Chemical X is really an early rolling piece that will not over react off the dry. With the addition of the Tour Line this season, you can really see what the designers are trying to add to the 900 global product line. I decided to play with the surface to see if I could find a good fit for my bag. The best reaction I saw was when i took the cover down to 500, 100, 2000, 4000. This prevented the ball from rolling to early and reading the lane better.

Comparing this ball to the King Cobra, while it has the same cover it is a completely different reaction. I feel that the Chemical X digs into the mid lane a lot earlier and is smoother off the break point. Comparing the X to the Breakdown I see a lot of overlap between the 2. It would basically boil down to the user preferring Asymmetric vs Symmetric pieces.

All in all if you are looking for a smooth rolling piece for your "tournament bag" than give this one a look. Personally this one was tough to match up to and I am a fan of the Breakdown anyways. I will certainly bring it to longer format tournaments because I can see the benefits but not during standard league play.

As I have said before, I am a huge fan of Symmetrical balls and this one is no different. Looking at this ball one would think you wouldn’t be able to throw it on most patterns unless there is a puddle of oil. It has a lot of tread under the 4000 top finish. For me I am able to throw it on multiple patterns. It doesn’t want to burn up early, it picks up the mid-lane and continues very well. Fresh patterns ultimately seem to be the best as it tames down those crisp backends and blends the pattern nicely. Very smooth but strong off the end of the pattern and keeps the pins low and gives me better carry percentage. Just another great benchmark and will be used on multiple patterns. Those with more Revs, can smooth out the finish or even polish it, I think this is a great addition!

About the Bowler

This ball I went with very simple basic layout pin up between the fingers drilling. I was very surprised to see how predictable this ball is not overly strong more for medium to possibly heavier lane conditions pending on the layout. This ball seems to really excel for me on tougher patterns where I need something to read the lane early and be very smooth and predictable off the end of the pattern.

Summary: I suggest this ball for anyone looking for very predictable reaction and smooth rolling ball for tougher lane conditions.

Ball comes oob at 4000. For my personal style I changed it to a 1000-2000-3000 as it made the ball much easier to predict throughout the entire pattern. I have found most success with this ball on tougher practice patterns as it is stable throughout the pattern with the cover stock change. Review:

The Pod Symmetric core is a great shape that gives tons of control. I drilled the Chemical X with a smooth transition in mind and it gave me exactly what I was hoping for. Smooth early roll, strong arcing mid lane motion and tons of control on the back end. Very nearly a urethane type motion but with the pop of reactive resin. This ball was designed for tournament use mostly and will be in my bag whenever I bowl on more difficult conditions. It is a great compliment to my Break Down on tighter and shorter patterns.

I took the new the 900Global Chemical X to a PBA qualifier on the TOC pattern. After throwing my Break Down and the Chemical X both in practice I decided to start out the fresh with the Chemical X. The Chemical X S55 Cover at 4000 gave me a sooner mid-lane read, but a little more of that strong arcing motion to the pocket. This allowed me to keep it in play as it also gave me enough recovery on slight misses to stay out of trouble. On the house pattern, I decided to see how the Chem X would handle a surface adjustment. I used VISE compound with a soft buff, this gave me a little more length as you would expect, but most impressive was that it still maintains that strong arcing motion. The continuation through the pocket leaves no pins in sight and that versatility will allow it to fit any bowler. This ball will not only come out of your bag on the tougher tournament style patterns but its smoothness will be a surefire winner in your leagues as well. The Chem X is that go to ball at a mid-level price that is sure to fit in your arsenal. like the breakdown, if you have a tough pattern or a flatter pattern, this is your benchmark ball. I have mine drilled pin below the bridge with the cg kicked out. I changed the surface out of the box because it was a little dull for my liking. Hit it will a 3000 or 400 pad a bit and the ball gets through the heads, reads the mids perfect and still has enough energy to split the 8-9.

The Chemical X is a great ball for a smooth controllable reaction. When the lanes are spotty, I can use the Chemical X to get a consistent reaction without the over-reaction. I bowl in a center with no climate control (other than doors open on each end to let in some air), so the lane conditions vary drastically depending on weather conditions. This is my first ball out of the bag to gauge the conditions and usually the ball I stay with due to the sometimes drastic changes throughout the set.

With the box finish at 4000 it allows this ball to get thru the heads read the mid-lane and go into a very controlable arc to the pocket. This ball reminds me of the all day but is much cleaner thru the heads and with alot more control on the backend of the lane.not the strongest ball in the bag but the most predictable. great addition to an already strong line from 900Global.

The Chemical X is a smooth rolling ball with a S55 solid cover stock. I have mine drilled pin above the ring finger with the cg kicked out at 5 o'clock from there. The pin is a 4 inch pin. I bowl on a typical house shot.

The Chemical X is a great complement to the Breakdown. The Chemical X had more mid-lane than the Breakdown, but still got through the front easily. When I missed a little right it had no problem getting back to the pocket without any over reaction. The Chemical X hooked 3 boards more than the Breakdown, which is due to the S70 cover stock vs. the Chemical X S55. Both balls carry well with a slightly different shape going down the lane. The Chemical X is a good addition to the 900 Global line. It give a distinctive different reaction to what is already in the line. In box finish it will handle med-med/heavy patterns depending on rev rate. Easy through the heads, mild mid lane read, and a smooth reaction downlane. The Chemical X is not a ball to cross many boards the more online you can keep the line the better the ball will go through the pins. Smoothing the cover more and even a little polish will give more length, but will still allow for a arcing type reaction. The Chemical X will fit many styles. On dryer lanes it will be better for higher ball speeds. This is a reaction that all tournament players will need in the bag.

Description: The Chemical X is something truly different. The core/cover combination help create a ball that is extremely versatile to drill layouts and surface changes. With the out of the box finish, the Chemical X provides a heavy roll with a smooth and continuous backend. With a few tweaks in surface the Chemical X can be adjusted for almost any lane pattern outside of your driest lanes conditions.

COMMENTS
Out of the fall 2015 releases, this is the one that I was anticipating the most. With the new Tour Preferred Series, 900 Global brings us the Chemical X. I felt that there was a gap between the Break Down and Boost. The Chemical X definitley fills this void for me. When I need a ball to read the midlane and still have a smooth arc to the pocket, this is it. The Chemical X is like the Break Down, but has a touch
more midlane read and a little more on the backend. It's not a huge backending ball, but it definitely doesn't quit once it encounters dry. I saw this ball as a benchmark type ball. Easily used on fresh and when the heads start to read early, I can maintain the line with the Break Down. It will definitely keep you out of trouble and with its backend reaction. Very predictable. One of the best characteristics is its amazing carry for a medium ball. Pins do not stand a chance. The Chemical X is very similar to the Favorite, Sure Thing, or AMF King Cobra (remake). This is definitely one ball that will be a hard one to get out of my hands.

About the ball…
The Chemical X is the strong, controllable ball that you need to complete a tactical strike on the pin deck. With its 4000 Grit matte finished S55 Solid coverstock, blending the different parts of the lane is easy work.
The new Pod Symmetric core has a differential of 0.035 which offers medium flare in order to keep the backend controllable and make adjustments simple.
My opinions…
This Chemical X offers a strong controllable reaction. The ball has a great mid lane read and strong transition through the pin deck on both sport and the typical house shot lane conditions. The Chemical X is not going to flip or over re-act off the dry. The ball takes surface changes very well. Taking the surface to 2000 will give you a little more mid lane read and better control of the pocket. When the lanes get tough this ball will help you keep striking when others are not.

900Global Chemical X
Color: Slate/Lemon
Coverstock: S55
Finish: 400 Grit
Core: Pod Symetric
Lanes: Brunswick HPL
Oil Pattern: Kegel Wall Street (40ft, 19.7ml)

I threw the 900Global Chemical X on the Wall Street Pattern. After throwing both in practice I decided to start out with the RESPECT in game 1. This would give me a good comparison as I made the switch on the last ball of the10th frame and threw the Chem X the entire 2nd & 3rd games. The Chemical X started reads the middle with its strong roll sooner in comparison to the REPSECT, but had more arcing movement to the pocket. This colors on the ball, which are quite nice allowed for an easy visual of its movement. This ball is will make for a great 2nd ball out of the bag once the transition starts. It will give you a control thru the front, but it stores energy real well for maximal hitting power. This ball will be a great addition to your arsenal, for both league and tournament bowlers. Don’t let the oil transition take you down, just release a little Chemical X on the pins to melt away your competition. 900Global “Performance for YOUR Game”
