I just ordered the Ebonite Maxim Captain Midnight bowling ball to use in a PBA experience league that is starting up next week. I can't wait to use it. I have a Hawg Zilla now, and for spare pickup, I need this ball.

I have a pink Maxim which is great. I do not care about the color, I like that when I put car polish on it, that ball is super slick. A great spare ball that has replaced my T-zone (Which is a great ball too). However, I like the Maxim better and pick up more of those dreaded 10 pins than I did with my T-Zone. It seems odd that a guy as big as I am is throwing a pink ball. But, it is 16lbs and I got a great deal. One thing I like is that if I miss, I get embarressed easier so I try harder to knock those pins down. However you want to think, its working and my scores are higher now. Great ball. It works great.

Really disappointed with this ball! It's an understatement to say the ball "may" not look like it. I got a ball with three solid colors, no swirls, looks NOTHING like the advertised ball. I highly advise against this ball unless you wish to waste paying for more shipping to return it.

Hey their. I have a hard time keeping my wrist dropped, pinky spread, index closed to Middle when I try to go straight at the pins, 10, 7, what have you. I tried but failed, other balls tend to Hook somewhat. This ball goes straight like an arrow, even when I release with some rotation and Tilt. Moves may be 1 board if the lanes are really really dry. Knocks the pins with a bang.

Further. I play in one house where they oil upto 55 or 56 feet. Most all bowlers their are recreational and play with a house ball. There I found it more useful as I release with strike release at 17 board. It hits like a truck and give me a lot more strikes then the other straight bowlers and leaves less numbers of splits than others. Why, being a hook player, I even play there is a whole story in itself. So I ain't writing here. It's a great ball. Get it and I guarantee you won't regret it.

This ball is a good spare ball, or if you want to use it for straight shots to the pocket, it will go to where you want it to with very minimal or no hook at all.
