A High-performance ball for high-rev players who need excellent length and continuation for their game.

Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 4 1/2"
Dual Angle Layout - 60* x 4 1/2" x 40*
Balance Hole - n/a

Surface Preparation - Out of Box (500/1000 Abralon w/ Factory Finish Polish)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
It has been such a long time for us to throw a Track ball, we were kind of shooting blind on this one.

We knew the HX16 was meant for length with good continuation so I went with a stronger pin up layout. This layout should suit the ball motion nicely and give me a really clean front with a good motion off the breakpoint.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
The ball did exactly what Track said it would do. Extremely smooth and good continuation downlane.

I dont know if this would be the first ball out of the bag on the fresh for me but in the second game when they opened up a little I could see this ball rolling really well.

It was super clean off my hand and on the fresh forced me further right then normal. It got through the mids clean not reading any friction. On the back, the ball made a strong move but not overly jumpy in any part of the lane. A really solid motion from start to finish.

I did notice that the ball would recover well, as you can see in a few of my shots, this was great to see. Sometimes with these smoother HP balls they tend to not recover as well as the HX16 did.

This is the high performance ball that Track has been missing. For those who had the 910A and thought it didn't have enough hook, this ball blows that out of the water. The I-Core still picks up very well in the midlane and produces a very angular continuous ball motion in the backend. This ball compliments either he LX16 or Mx16 very well especially if drilled identical. This ball will give more length and backend then both of those balls. For heavier oil, don't be afraid to dull the surface on this one for added performance.

Hx16 drilled 60 x 4 ¼ x 20 pap used 3 over and 5/8 up (I am right handed)
I have been able to use the Hx16 on several patterns as well as add surface to the ball. I will say at first I didn’t love the reaction almost look like the ball wobbled down the lane a little could be color this is a different color profile (pretty though). On the house shot (out of box) I was able to stand 22 and look at 10 at the arrows I could miss in a little as well as miss right and the ball didn’t lose finish or recovery. The hybrid cover out of box didn’t give me that big hooking motion. So playing straighter as well as moving a little deep works best for me with this layout and ball.

On 2009 EBT 02 46ft pattern I played around with the surface using the ball spinner. The grit used 180/500/1000 the roll was strong but not as soon as I laid it down strong the ball got down the lane and you could see it pick up but not dive left. The reaction was very readable and predictable, I am impressed with the way it rolls once surface was added.

The Track HX16 is a thing of beauty to behold through the pins. It is an awesome combination of strength and length. The hybrid coverstock comes polished but also responds well with surface changes. The coverstock itself is not particularly strong…but that’s the beauty of this ball! Because of that, it is very clean through the front of the lane and through the mid-lane. That’s where the strong core takes over and creates and incredible roll THROUGH the pins. With surface, I have had success on very long patterns – and with polish, creating a great skid/flip motion on house patterns and not responding too quickly to friction on medium length patterns.

If I could only pick one ball from the current Track line to be able to throw on ALL pattern lengths and volumes – I think it would be the HX16. This is a really good ball!!!

The track Hx16 is a great ball for high rev and low rev players looking for a ball to get through the front part of the lane and read towards the middle due to the hybrid cover stock reading the break point and giving you a great back end motion, this ball id a great ball to use if the Track Legion is too much on the back end.
