The Hammer Hawg Zilla is a very good bowling ball. I received this ball about a week ago. It is very good in getting down the lane and turning over. It's very good in carry down. So far it seems like it get through the heads clean but that might change down the road. I would not recommend this ball for high rev player because it will over react. To me it seems like it would be for more of a stroker. Other than that the only bad thing about it is that you have to clean it often. It likes to polish up very fast. It is by far the best ball in my bowling bag. Wes Newman 19 years old Panama City ,Fl.

The Hammer Hawg Zilla bowling ball is the first ball out of the bag when there is heavy oil. Eats it up and holds the line better than anything else I have. Go to the Road Hawg or Hawg Wild after lanes break down a bit.

I bought my Hawg Zilla about a year and a half ago and got back into bowling the same time. The last ball I had is the original Black Hammer back in the 80's so it's been a long time. The Hawg Zilla is great on mid to oily lanes, it does go long and then turns hard into the 1-2 pocket(I'm a lefty and a cranker). I've been averaging between 190's to 220's, compared to the 170's back then with my black Hammer, which I still use when lanes are spotty. I know the ball has been retired by Hammer, but if you can get one, do it. I also bought the Roto-Grip Spare Tire Ball(I'm a mechanic) for spare shots.

Since I've gotten this ball I have been above average every week this year. I've raised my average 35 pins. Awesome ball best investment I've made in bowling. I highly recommend this ball to everyone.

I bought this ball about four months ago and love it. My other balls are both ten years old (I took quite a break) -- a Combat Zone and another reactive ball that was drilled for length. I'm a pretty smooth stroker, and I was looking for something I could throw until the lanes broke down. This ball did the trick. I got Most Improved in my league, bumping my average from 150 to 165 DURING the second half of the season (meaning I was averaging about 180). The only problem I had was when I throw too hard, I tend to get a full roll and the ball would just slide all the way down, but that's not the ball's fault. Also, the ball does pick up a LOT of oil. What I did was just leave it in the trunk of my car on a hot day. I opened up the trunk at high noon to see a coating of oil on it and I cleaned it off followed by another cleaning later. Knowing myself, I figured it was safer than "baking" the ball. Since this was my first particle ball, it's possible the jump in technology was the reason why I loved the ball so much. I plan to get an Ebonite NVS when it comes out and I'll be back to write a comparison.

The Hammer Hawg Zilla ball WAS one of my favorite balls to use. I drilled it up for a strong smooth arc (wet/dry drilling) and that's what I got. I shot some of my highest games and series with this ball. I played straight up the 7-15 board depending on the lanes, If I got it out to far it came back perfectly, and if I yanked it it held.
Now on the downside... I didn't clean the cover very often, And just like my Black Widow the ball just died out.
I plan on buying another Hammer ball with violent reactive coverstock but I hope to keep it cleaned off this time.

I purchased my Hawg Zilla and I improved my average by 23 pins immediately. It is a very aggressive ball in dry conditions and semi aggressive in wet. Needs to be cleaned after each use to avoid oil soaking up in the coverstock resulting in less hook potential. Ball has good backend and a very strong pin action. Recommend this ball to anyone.

I bought the Hammer Hawg Zilla bowling ball last fall. I averaged 186 last year using a Brunswick Ultimate Inferno. The consistancy of shot the Hawgzilla has offered to me has allowed me to up my average to 205. In addition, I have two 300's and a high series of 755 this year. I would consider myself a stroker with low revs and a shot typically on the second arrow. I used to leave excessive numbers of ten pins; this ball has more than cut that in half. A great ball!!!

By far the Hammer Hawg Zilla bowling ball is the best ball that I have ever owned. I added some Lane Masters ball polish to it so it's nice and shiny.
All I do is throw it right down the right side of the line between the second (10 board) and first arrow (5 board) and it goes long - really long. At the last second when you think you're going to leave a ten pin it turns left and hits the pocket with unparalleled force.
