I had the Dexter SST 6 before I bought these. I like how they fit and how they are made. I also like how you can change the sole and heel to suit the lanes you are on. They are a great shoe and well worth the price.

I have always been a big fan of Dexter shoes and have worn the SST 5s and 6s, but this pair has never suited me well. The break in period for a soul was taking about 2 months rolling 2-4 days a week. When I needed to switch to a different soul in a new center, I haven't been able to because they were not broke in. I would definitely work on finding many ways to break them in quickly and not just one soul prior rolling competively in them. They will take time in my opinion.

Just got these shoes. These aqre my first serious style of bowling shoes. My first pair were Basic entry level. Wow what a difference. Fit great right out of the box. Used them that night with no break in time.

If I start to stick at the line no problem change the toe. If I start to slide into the lane , No Problem change the heel. With my old shoes; if I stuck while sliding it was with me all night forcing me to move my slide. They are worth every penny. I almost wish I could wear them home too.

Now I am going to buy my wife, Daughter, and son a pair.

I have been bowling with Dexter SSTs since they first came out and worn every model. The SST 7 is a great shoe for the bowler who doesn't drag their toe of the pivot shoe on the approach during the slide (ala Patrick Healy Jr.). If you drag your toe, wear the SST 6! If you don't drag your toe, use this shoe. All Dexter shoes are wear-ready. The soles and heels, when brand new, take very little break-in time. I have compared this shoe to its Dyna-roo rival and prefer this shoe to the Roo. Lace 'em up and Happy Bowling.
