Testimonials
“This ball gives me a unique look compared to anything else on the market. I get good length and strong backend motion combined with a strong core that still reads the mids great. In other words this piece gives me the look I want and still blends out the pattern very well. I have a good feeling this ball will be a big success for me this year along with the Grand Illusion.”
PBA National Champion, Wes Malott
“The Cell Pearl gives me a strong and continuous motion that is very predictable. Its ability to be used on a variety of patterns makes this the first ball out of my bag for me. I am amazed that Roto Grip could improve on the original Cell design, but they sure have!”
PBA National Champion, Mike DeVaney
"The Cell Pearl is much harder off the friction down lane and at least 5-8 boards more than the original Cell. It retains its energy longer for a much stronger backend reaction. With this ball in my hands I feel it's another piece of the Roto Grip Kingdom that can help me win!"
PBA National Champion, Danny Wiseman

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
With all the success of the original Cell this one was going to be pretty easy. Use a layout that I know and trust and let the ball do the rest. The Cell Pearl combines the same Nucleus core as the Cell with a pearlized reactive cover. The layout I used on this ball is fairly common for me and I have a Storm Gravity Shift that I love drilled the same way. I figured this would be a perfect way to compliment my Cell and to give us a good idea of
what this ball can do.
What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
Roto-Grip once again has raised the bar with this release. The look the ball had going down the lane alone would sell this ball to anyone who saw it. I guess the best description would be a Cell on steroids. With the pearlized reactive cover this gave me the look that most bowlers want, long and strong. The Cell Pearl got through the front part of the lane smoothly and with little disruption to friction, as it moved through the mid-lane you could see the ball grab the lane and continue straight through the back end. This ball hit as
hard if not harder then the Cell, this was mostly due to the amount of energy that it stored for the back part of the lane.
As the night continued making adjustments to the lane changes was as easy as it is with any reactive ball but the predictability of the Cell Pearl was amazing. The small moves that I had to make were common during league and
the ball gave me enough forgiveness to recover if the move was to drastic.
Overall this is another winner from Roto-Grip. I think you will enjoy throwing this ball as much if not more then your Cell.

What I Was Looking For In This Layout: I went ahead and tried Roto Grip's recommended layout for crankers, the 6 x 5 layout. They say that this will work good for those inside lines.
What I Ended Up With In This Ball Layout: If you liked the Cell, then you are going to love the Cell Pearl. Not only does this ball look GREAT going down the lane, but it hits like a truck. Even with the pin so far from my PAP, this ball is still one of the more aggressive balls in my arsenal. This gets through the heads pretty easily, then jumps off the dry and makes a left turn. Skid/Snap would be a valid description of what I get out of this ball layout.
I started around 15 at the arrows and was getting the ball out to around 5 on our Thursday Night Men's league. It was flying back off the dry, so I ended up moving in towards 18 at the arrows and kept the ball closer to 8-10 at the breakpoint. This allowed the ball motion to transition smoother off the breakpoint and give me the look I needed.
After a game and a half, the lanes had broken down and I was forced to move in deeper. My first move in was to stand on 34 on the approach and put the ball over 23 at the arrows 12 at the breakpoint. The look this gave me was terrific. It did provide enough kick at the breakpoint to snap the corners out at the very end.
Overall, I think this is going to be a great ball for me on the tighter lane conditions. Compared to my Cell Pro CG, I can get in deeper and it gives me a better angular look. If you bowl in a drier house, or you rev it up, I would recommend this layout. If you bowl in a house with more oil, are more of a tweener or down and in player, I would recommend going with a stronger layout. Another great ball from Roto Grip.

My Personal Review: I really liked the way this ball rolls. Not only does it look great going down the lane, it also has the strongest backends of any of the equipment in my bag. I am currently a 188 avg bowler that normally starts out standing 20 playing 10 at the arrows. With this ball I am starting out standing at least 25 playing around 15.

I make my living giving lessons and coaching. I see all of the bowling balls going down the lane with a wide variety of bowling styles and techniques. The Cell Pearl is without a doubt the most verstaile bowling ball that I have ever seen in my career. I also bowled professionally and have won major events. If you are in doubt this is the ball to go with. You cannot go wrong, this ball is a WINNER. You will see an immediate jump in carry and average.

I've been anticipating the release of this ball for quite some time now and it has finally arrived. The very first game I bowled with it was a 277 during league play not a bad first impression of the ball. Then I went down to Albuquerque to bowl in a PBA Regional and after shooting 161 the first game with the wrong ball in my hand, I made a ball change to the Cell Pearl. I averaged 218 over my last 7 games and would have made the cut if I had started out using the Cell Pearl. I used a pretty basic label drill with this Cell Pearl with no weight hole and with the pin above my ring finger. This ball rolls so smooth through the front part of the lane storing up all the energy for the end result. The carry that I've experienced up to this point has been phenomenal and I really can't ask for anything more from a bowling ball. I now feel that I have an unbeatable combination of equipment headlined with the Cell, Grand Illusion, and now the dynamic Cell Pearl. The Cell Pearl is a must add to any bowlers arsenal.

Drilled 4x4 with a 2.5" pin buffer, no x-hole. OOB surface.
Tweener with med-slow ball speed, medium axis rotation and almost no axis tilt.
Mine smelled like grapes out of the box, but it's wearing off.
Good skid with a lot of cut in the midlane. Strong and certainly continuous in the back. Compared to my lightly polished Odyssey this ball is somewhat stronger in the midlane. Compared to the Cell this one gives a similar look in less oil.
I would say it's much like an Epic Saga but with more grip.
Beautiful ball, rolling this one is a pleasure.

Cell Pearl Review
Layouts:
5 x 2 pin down no hole
5 x 5 pin up small hole inside PAP
I recently drilled 2 Cell Pearls and all I can say is wow. The CP clears the fronts considerably better the the original Cell. The high pin CP is a little more rolly then the low pin. The Cell Pearl seems to be a mix between the Grand Illusion and the original Cell. It has the hook potential of the Cell which to me seems to outhook everything on todays market but has the shape of the Grand Illusion, very clean through the front with a very strong continuous motion down the lane. This is definitely going to be the most hooking ball in your bag. I will probably use the Cell Pearls on Shark and Scorpion. I think the Cell Pearl adds something to the line that they didn't have before, something very strong but clean through the fronts. I see this ball being very popular on the PBA Tour, I'm sure Wes will have a few in his bag. Get used to seeing the Cell Pearl because it is soon to be the hottest ball on the market.

I drilled the Cell Pearl over the weekend. It is 2" pin-out ball drilled 4X4 with a small weight hole on the axis.
I am a high tracker righty tweener with fairly high speed.
On typical house condition (38 feet Xmass tree, not much oil on midlane)this ball looked way too much. Hookout early and lost all its energy. I applied Track shine. With speed and hand he can swing the ball out from 35 to 39 boards and watch the ball turn the corner unbelievably hard. If you slightly slow down, there is no way you can hit jersey. Pray for brooklyn! Little bit over-under and hard to control in this condition. Low trackers and players with high speed and less hand may like this ball with polish on house shot.
On more tight conditions (40 feet Xmass tree with oil in mids) this ball has good lenght and incredible pop on the backend. As long as you have backends you can swing the ball with trust. Not a heavy oil ball with polish unless you are a down'n in player. If you leave the coverstock dull you can have more predictable but strong hook on backends.
For those who like comparisons, The Cell Pearl is the Cell squared on any kind of condition. Regardless of how much hand you have or ball speed, you may find a correct lay-out match with your style. It reminds me of the best ball I have ever drilled and used, the bowlingball.com Fire Quantum. This is a must have for anyone looking to improve their carry.
