The Playmaker combines two of the most popular features of recent history, the core of the V 2 (Vortex II) and the cover of The One... The Playmaker is a pearlized version of the Gamebreaker. The Playmaker will provide greater length out of the box vs. the Gamebreaker while still providing a strong mid-lane roll with backend continuation.
The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

Pin length from axis point is 5 inches and above fingers. This is a great compliment to the Gamebreaker, it provides that extra 4 or 5 feet desired when the Gamebreaker starts to burn up. If the Gamebreaker is in your bag, the Playmaker should be sitting beside it.

This ball goes real long and doesn't flip on the backend. Easy to control. I like it a lot because it didn't have a big arc. Like I said, long and easy to control is the main keys of this ball.

I've been using the playmaker for about 5 times, my very first week, I bowled a 156, my highest score ever, it does get a little frustrating cause it can pick up a decent amount of oil as you us it, but my average has gone up about ten points, 110-122 as well as my spare coversion this ball is very acurate when amming at spares, I have it drilled for traditional drilling, but it still curves, the more oil it picks up the more it curves, otherwise I'm very happy with the decision every now and then I have a bad game but not the balls fault I haven't been able to figure out the adjustment to the oil pick up, but it's a very good ball, you may want to consider to bye this ball if your looking for a decent spare and don't like using plastic or if your a beginer it's very hard to throw a bad role unless you have a bad release, I love it, overall.

Well what can i say about the playmaker, hhhmm. Only that it hits like a dang truck. I just got it drilled this last tuesday and wanted something that would hook more that my complete nv on those heavy oil patterns and basically got it for the junior gold long oil pattern too. So to make it start up a little sooner I drilled it to hook a shet load and then threw a 1000 grit on there and this ball is amazing. Even on dryer patterns there is still a way to get dialed in without this ball burning up. Plus it reacts just how i wanted on a heavy oil shot. I love this ball so much I am probabaly going to drilled up a second one that goes a little longer with a polished surface. In conlusion, this ball is awesome, i reccomend it to anyone, beginner to advanced..GET ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Ok this ball is very strange. Had it drilled negative pin right below my middle finger with cg kicked out a little. I dont really know what to say about it but it seems like you have to make sure you hit it at the bottom of the swing to make it hook. I dont know i mean i threw it on the shark the first night i had it and shot 297 with it but i have the v2 sweet (Best ball ever shot 855 with it) and the original v2 and it just seems that this ball is kind of off. I finally threw it on house shot tonight and shot 701 with it on a 237 avg. so i shot about my average but it just seemed like it didnt want to react all that well

Not sure how I had it drilled (just got fitted at my local pro shop and had it drilled), but I love this ball already.
It's listed as best in medium oil, but I have used this ball in heavy, medium, and light oil conditions. In heavy, it's arc is smooth but it still has a slight snap on the backend. In medium and light, it just arcs a bit more and has a little more aggression on the backend. It's so easy to adjust through the games just by moving your feet a few boards left or right and switching from a straighter shot to a wider, hooking shot. Also, it hits the pins pretty hard for a "mid-performance" ball. I have the 14-pounder (because I'm higher rev but lower speed) and it still slams the pins. Even in the heavier oil with the slighter backend!
I haven't been seriously bowling for a long time, at most a few months, and this has been a great first ball so far. I had previously used a friend's 14 pound Ebonite V2 Power, which has some more hook potential, but I had trouble with it hooking too much in some of the lighter oil lanes. This ball is very flexible in all conditions, which helps when you're on a tighter budget and can't buy multiple balls for different lane situations. I haven't been bowling for long enough to really establish and average, but I say between 150 and 160. My average with this ball so far is high 160's. Thanks to Ebonite for continuing the core of the V2 series, and I'd have to say "have fun" to anybody getting one of these balls!

I drilled this with the # 6 drilling on the recommended layout for this ball. The reaction that he got was very clean thru the heads, good mid-lane and a controllable backend reaction. This is exactly what he want. About the Bowler Bowling Hand Right Handed League Average 210 Ball Speed Fast Style Cranker PAP 4 1/2 over 1/2 up
