The Ultra Mega X features the Enhanced Max Flip reactive coverstock found on other high performance Hammer bowling balls and a strong high performance core.
This core/coverstock combination allows you to use the ball out of the box on heavier or longer oil patterns and get a great mid-lane roll and plenty of backend or polish it to create more of a skid/snap reaction.

We actually tested this ball back in late 2005. Being an Overseas Release there was a delay in us receiving the ball in the US. We had a pretty good idea that if this ball was thrown out of the box it would be an aggressive ball reaction. We decided to keep the layout very simple and drill it label (4 1/2" x 5"). I used this ball on a heavier pattern and was amazed by how strong the ball rolled through the heads and maintained enough energy to make a very strong move on the backend. This ball makes you feel like you picked up revs with how strong it comes off your hand. Overall I thought this ball was a great ball for medium-heavier oil conditions and yet it was controllable enough to use when they started to break down. This ball proved to us that Nothing Hits Like A Hammer in the US or Overseas!

Didn't know what to expect when I bought the Hammer Ultra Mega X - Overseas Release bowlingball.com Exclusive bowling ball, was interested in having something no one else had. Turns out to be my high average ball, roughly 16 pins above my overall average...couldn't be happier and am thinking about buying another for a back up.
