I wish I would have found the perfect scale for bowling balls on bowlingball.com before I took the challenge. My pro shop guy just laughed when I showed up with the Elite Shark, a straight ball, and the Hammer Hawg Zilla. The website that sells the Elite Shark said that they were giving a Hawg Zilla away for free and I took their challenge.(I got caught not the Shark) My pro guy explained that I not only got nothing for free, but I got taken by a smooth operator. I could buy the Hawg here at bowlingball.com for 129.99 and my pro shop guy said that the Shark bowling ball uses the coverstock and core of a 89.99 ball. I got taken for about 120.00 plus drilling charges. The Hawgs hooks, flat out on tons of oil. The Shark, my gosh - goes dead straight on the same condition. When I contacted bowlersparadise, I was told that there was no guarantee, blah, blah, blah. If I would have come here to bowlingball.com first I would have seen that there perfect scale rating shows the Shark ball not hooking too much. Plus I would have saved over 250.00 because I would never have even bothered to buy the Shark. I usually don't write reviews, but I am so upset a being taken by the Elite bowling balls that I feel I need to tell someone. I plan on reviewing this ball elsewhere if I can find anywhere. I guess there is a BIG difference between many bowling websites. I am new to purchasing bowling balls online. But after talking to a lot of bowlers and my pro shop guy I realized that probably the best two sites to purchase bowling balls is bowlingball.com and buddiesproshop they have a great reputation. Apparently, sites like bowlerspardise and even bowling.com are not here to serve the bowling industry and bowlers but are here to market products in any way they see fit to make money. So much for serving the bowler, dang they got to make money. Now to what REALLY impresses me. I emailed bowlingball.com and they issued full credit for the Shark that I can use on their site. Conditions do apply, they have to make money and did not sell me the Shark or make money on it.

Anyone notice that this is a mid performance core from Brunswick. Anyway, got to throw one of my buddies, this ball is weak and I do mean weak. It hits like a marshmallow and the oil just sits on the ball. This ball is now 3 or 4 years old so I guess there is not much use in reviewing it but I just wanted people to know. I wouldn't spend the money to plug the ball if someone gave you one. Steer clear and save your money.

I will say flat out that this ball does not do what it says it will. It is a light hooking ball. I was extremely upset after first using this ball. After I got used to the reaction however, this ball has become one of my favorites. It has a very smooth arc and on a house shot is very effective. If you are looking for a ball with great control, then this is the one you want.
