Pin: 4".
Drill: Pin 3 3/8" from PAP, above fingers, CG kicked out.
Surface: OOB.
Style: High rev.
Speed: Medium (17 MPH)
Average: 211 on a THS.

The Good: Drilled lev and long, the Doom breaks at 42+ feet and carries the lightest hits.

The Bad: Short oil patterns result in a jumpy backend reaction, to the point where I've left some weird stuff, like a solid 7-9 (I'm right-handed).

The Skinny: The Doom is great early in the shift. It needs some oil to go long and cut to the pocket. Better light than high.

I roll in Hardwick Lanes in Memphis, TN. I was going to the pro shop and had money in hand to buy the brunswick scorchin' inferno. The local pro watched me roll and was convinced that I needed to try the doom first. And oh man, im glad I did. This ball is exactly as advertised. The skid was flawless and had a perfect flip on the backend. I put $50 dollars back in my pocket and left with the Doom. If you are man enough to roll a pink/red ball, this is it. :)

Raw Hammer Doom
16 lbs.
Pin 1.75" right of ring finger
CG between thumb and pin
Finish - Out of the Box
I have used the Hammer Raw Hammer Doom bowling ball for this whole season (3 nights left). The drilling was based on the action of my old ball (very old - a blue Faball Nail) which was a very predictable skid/flip ball. This ball is not predictable. If I'm on, this ball is right there with me. If I'm off by even a little bit, I'm leaving splits. We've all been robbed when what looks like a perfect pocket ball leaves one standing. Imagine a game with no less that 7 splits! Don't get me wrong. When this ball hits the pins it's like a bomb went off! And, I have bowled a 600 series. But, I used to do that every week with my Nail. The Doom is just not predictable. Especially if there is any carry-down of oil. At those times ... where's the flip?!?! Straight as an arrow right through the 3 pin! I'm going to try to redeem this ball by messing with the finish during summer league. If that doesn't help I'll get a second opinion on the drilling. After that? I'll dump this ball as a lesson learned. I'm kinda liking the Black Widow but Storm and Brunswick have some very interesting offerings.

Hammer Bowling has another hit. I bowl on medium to dry lane conditions and the Raw Hammer Doom is the answer. Great mid lane with awesome flip and tremendous hitting power. Excellent bowling ball for the money!

Just bowled the first few deliveries with the DOOM at the UK National Championships. It goes long and hits better than any ball I have previously owned. Staggering power and control considering this was straight out of the box with no practice. 7 strikes out of 8 shots! I am using a Track Machine as well and it is a great compliment as the lanes start to turn.

The Hammer Raw Hammer Doom bowling ball carries well through the pocket. Very forgiving for me, lean or deep, still rolled a strike. Great first ball. Rolled a 213 on the first day, not bad for a 160 average beginner!

The Hammer Raw Hammer Doom bowling ball is a nice ball, I have not put many games on her yet but so far so good. I've shot on a fresh pattern - after league - and an abused open bowling lane.
You know what the best thing is? It acts the same way regardless. I don't know if the out of box finish is doing the magic or if I'm so used to bowling on these conditions that I adjust subconsciously. But I will say this - on a trash lane I used to take 1.2 to 2 games to adjust with one strike ball. Not a problem anymore.
Dislikes - no hard snap, and if you throw it outside it may not come back.
Likes - nice hard hitting ball - carries well and very predicable.

The Raw Hammer Doom bowling ball really didn't do what everyone said it was going to do. My average went from 209 to 183 since I started using this ball. I throw it pretty hard and don't put much hook on it so it just didn't work out for me.

The Raw Hammer Doom bowling ball is a great addition to anyone's ball arsenal. A combination of recovery, forgiveness, and dynamic hitting power help make this ball a must have. I can lower my ball speed and swing the lane, while still keeping my hitting power, or stand in the middle and play down and in through the midlane oil with no fear of weak tens. I drilled my Doom for early roll with strong backends because I have enough ball speed to not have to worry about getting the ball through the heads on most patterns. When the lanes break down a little, you'll usually finding me switching to the Doom from my Angular because I get about 4 boards less hook by comparison. It fits in with the new Hammer line as well as any and is my favorite of the new hammers. Happy striking (and sparing)!
