The Ultimate Inferno is a heavy oil ball designed for bowlers who prefer Reactive over Particle coverstocks. The Ultimate Inferno uses the same core as the original Inferno but combines it with a solid 800-grit dull version of Activator coverstock.
Brunswick's new Activator Coverstock has quickly established a reputation for excellence in ball reaction, durability and longevity of ball reaction. On the lanes, Activator Coverstock is clean through the heads with excellent mid-lane recovery and a strong arcing back-end reaction that creates powerful pin action. Owners of the original Inferno have reported that it requires less frequent resurfacing and rejuvenations and is more resistant to cracking than other reactive coverstock balls.
Compared to the original Inferno:
-The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better to oily lane conditions, longer patterns and heavy carry down.
-The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better for bowlers who struggle with excessively long ball reaction.
-The Ultimate Inferno will match-up better on heavily oiled - over/under lane conditions.

Utility
Out of the Box: The Ultimate Inferno is an ideal heavy oil ball for players wanting to use a Reactive coverstock.
When shined:
Using Brunswick's Factory Finish High Gloss Polish the total hooking action of the Ultimate Inferno can be reduced and the arc made more skid/snap.
Reaction Setup
The Brunswick Inferno can be drilled using the standard drilling techniques developed for two-piece balls, see the included drilling instructions for reaction characteristics and layout details.
The Ultimate Inferno is finished with a dull 800-grit surface finish which increases its hooking action in the oil. Dull surface finishes can sometimes hook too early resulting in reduced backend reaction and hitting power. To increase length, polish the surface with Brunswick's Factory Finish High Gloss Polish.
The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

The Brunswick Ultimate Inferno bowling ball is my favorite ball. I have it drilled with the pin above the right finger grip and a balance hole 4 1/2" away from pin. This ball has a continuous arc but it snaps real hard in the back end. I stand over by the center dot and throw the ball out to the 8th board and the ball arcs right into the pocket hitting like a train.

the ball is what i've been looking for all my life. It is very versatile when it comes to shooting 10 pins and finding its way to the pocket in virtually any oil pattern. definelty a 10 out of 10 in my book.

I give the Inferno a 1. If you want a ball that will last over a year. This isn't the ball. I am a Cranker/Stroker pretty much inbetween, and it feels like I have no control over the backend break, I even polished it a few times but it was still too aggressive for me. My dad however, throws the ball with very few revolutions, and gets what he wants out of the ball and loved it he even bowled his high series 787 with it. Unfortunately for him, after a couple of months of him throwing it, the ball stopped breaking as hard for him, and didn't hit the pocket with much drive sometimes leaving the 5-7 split. So from my Experiences this ball seems to be for bowlers that don't get as much revolutions on the ball and tend to come up to the pocket light. My dad rates this ball a 5, but strongly suggests to take as good of care of it as possible.About the Bowler Bowling Hand Right Handed League Average 200-210 Sport Shot Average 198 Ball Speed Fast Style Stroker PAP PAP

I had this ball a year ago or so.... and i think this is the best bowking bal that i have ever had. It is an old ball but it hits the pins like no other. I know alot about the bowling balls today and this is by far up in the top 5 performance wise, and number 1 for my personal use. I have had 10 balls in the matter of 3 years and i love this ultimate inferno. I am going to buy myself another one and always have one as an extra arsenal. I was 12 when i first got this ball off of a league, and that year i averaged an awsome 190 for being as young as i was. I research alot of balls and i will tell you, go out and get this ball its awsome!!! 2 thumbs up!!!

I have the ball drilled for heavy oil, the ball has a 1 1/2 inch pin out. The shot is a 42 foot christmas tree, and I was told the ball would hook off the lane. Well it did for the first 20 or so games, and I hated that ball. Then, for the next 20-30 games the ball raised my average from 204-207.About the Bowler Bowling Hand Left Handed League Average 206 Ball Speed Medium Style Cranker
And now the last 50 or so games I have bowled with the ball it is so inconsistent it's not even funny. I go inside with the ball, it hooks to the next lane or goes flat and leaves me a 7 pin. I go outside and swing the ball, and it moves not in the least bit.
I am a high rev cranker, and I would not recommend this ball to anyone who relies on turn and ball speed.

I left the factory finish and added a high gloss polish. No matter where I stand on the approach the ball hits the pocket like a ton of bricks. This is probably one of the best hooking balls you can buy. My layout has the pin about an inch left of my ring finger. I pretty much trust my pro shop with all my layouts and what ball they may recommend. If you can find one of these balls I would recommend you purchase it, you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Bowlers Aid.

I got to tell ya I think this balls stinks, I have 24 300's with numerous balls and this ball is a big hype, it DOES NOT ROLL like people say. This ball should be rolled on light oil if you want that big hook.

I bought the original Inferno and loved it. Then I got an Absolute Inferno and loved that...this ball is just as good as its predecessors if not better...enough said! For anyone that has a problem with the ball going too long. Brunswick is the company to go with.

God this ball rocks! I bought this ball from my local pro shop 3 yrs ago and it was a good investment. I throw the ball hard but not with a lot of revs. One guy My team was bowling against stated that my ball hit the pins harder than anyone else in the alley!! Not actually true but it proves this ball hooks and hits like a tank! Brunswick stopped making this ball so buy em up, once they are gone they are gone. I just got a brand new one and I can't wait for my league to start up! Three other bowlers in my league have this ball as well and they all love it. I might get a Fury too.
