Brunswick bowling ball popular with Touring bowling professionals.
Brunswick proudly introduces the Inferno with Activator Aggressive Reactive coverstock.
Every Urethane (Conventional and Reactive) is made by combining a liquid polyol and a liquid isocyanate to make a solid urethane polymer. Brunswick has gone back to these foundations and developed a totally new polyol, combined with a radically new Liquid Crystal Isocyanate and Additive system in order to create Activator, a new Advanced Reactive material.
Activator coverstocks feature a layered molecular structure that improves both coverstock durability and overall ball reaction. By design, the Activator material can be formulated to independently control the ball's traction in the oil and reaction to the dry. This ability to control the Traction/Friction Response has been used to fine tune the Activator coverstock to match up with a new Ultra-Low Rg core creating the Inferno, a ball with unparalleled characteristics from the foul line to the pit.
Inferno Advantages
In the front-ends:
The Inferno's Activator coverstock is cleaner through the fronts, saving more reaction for the back-ends. This provides improved hitting power and back-end recovery while reducing sensitivity to breakdown in front-end lane conditions and lane surfaces that are less than ideal.
In the mid-lane:
The Ultra-Low RG core used in the Inferno provides strong mid-lane recovery while its Activator coverstock provides improved traction in the oil with a smoother, more effective reaction off the dry. This combination reduces over/under reaction by making the wet play less wet and the dry, less dry, effectively allowing the bowler to create more area.
On the back-ends:
The Inferno's Activator coverstock is powerful and continuous from the breakpoint through the pins. Improved traction in the oil allows the Inferno to bite through the carry down and aggressively change direction without breaking loose from the lane. The strong rolling characteristics of the Ultra-Low RG core make this move more readable allowing you to open up the lane.
At the pins:
The Activator coverstock used on the Inferno creates lower, more active pin action for improved carry.
All of these characteristics become more apparent on less than ideal lane surfaces or as the lane condition breaks down. Forgiveness, recovery and hit are preserved as the lane condition changes allowing you to keep striking longer with your Inferno before needing to change balls.
Utility
Out of the Box:
With its high-gloss finish the Inferno will match up well on medium to oily lane conditions. When dulled: The Inferno's hooking action will increase and its arc will become more even, creating a better match-up for oily lane conditions and further smoothing over/under reactions seen on wet/dry lane conditions.
The Perfect Scale™: Helping Bowlers Make Better Decisions. Because each manufacturer uses a different method for indicating a ball's hook potential, bowlingball.com developed a way for the consumer to compare bowling balls across all manufacturers.

The Brunswick Original Inferno bowling ball is the best of the Inferno line. Has the best traits of all the Inferno line of balls. Clean through the heads, but not too long. Drilled for a skid/snap condition and this ball is great on medium oil and house shots and or lower oil tournament shots. This is a ball I always carry with me. It truly is a benchmark ball.

Thank you bowlingball.com for bringing this ball back. This is a remake of the original and reactions and rolls just like my first one. The Brunswick Inferno bowling ball is one of the best balls that I have thrown. Great roll on any condition. Carry is outstanding. I averaged a solid 195 with the old Inferno and the lanes where I bowl damaged it. They replaced it with a Columbia Action Attack, what a bad difference. Just got my Inferno drilled and saw my average come right back. In fact, I have shot 20 to 30 pins over my average in the 5 series that I have bowled since getting the Inferno.

I bowled with the Brunswick Inferno bowling ball twice and both games were 200 or a little over!! Ball has smooth approach and then just snaps in with great force. This ball also does good with the down and in method.

Plain and simple... this is the best ball i have ever thrown. I have gone through three of them already and i can honestly say that this ball can do everything. I cant find another one or i would buy it but all in all i would consider this the \"model\" for what a good bowling ball is. It has extended life and also has a good out of the box kick. Not much surface maintainance is required either. Great Ball!!!

The Inferno is probably the most consistent ball I have ever thrown. I'm a tweener player, about 250-350 RPMs and average ball speed = 15 mph. I have a 16 lb Inferno that I use on longer patterns like the PBA scorpion and PBA shark, then I have a 15 lb Inferno that I throw when the long shots break down, or for medium patterns. It gets to a roll in the backend no matter how you throw it. It's very clean through the heads and holds when you need it to hold...Inferno is a very definitive ball meaning it's only as good as how you throw it, so if you are consistent the ball is consistent, there's no BS with this ball it has really "honest" reaction. Only trouble is that it is too aggressive when it comes to shorter oil patterns like PBA Cheetah and PBA Viper, but then again maybe the drill patterns are versatile for this ball there might be a drill pattern that works for light oil (I don't know much about drill patterns). But if you want a reliable high-performance ball that won't burn out after 20 games, get the Inferno. My 16 lbs one I bought used and it was one of the very 1st ones made, and it's still going as opposed to my Ebonite Big One which has lost it's consistency.

I got the Brunswick Inferno bowling ball about a year ago and it reacts as well as when I first bought it. It is a great ball for dry back ends but doesn't react well on wet dry conditions I usually use mine for the first game of my league through most of the second, other good thing about it is you can change the line with a simple move of the hand. This ball made me a huge Brunswick fan when before I wasn't really big on them.

My Brunswick Inferno bowling ball is drilled with the pin below the ring finger. Goes long and snaps hard. I might dull it up and see how much hook I can get. Goes great with my Ultimate Inferno.

This ball is one of two truly exceptional balls that I've ever owned .... And I've owned many! The other one, which unfortunately is no longer available is the Brunswick DZ Red Alert LE - Perhaps the best reactive ball ever made, and the benchmark by which all other reactives are, or should be compared to. The original Inferno is about all you could ask for - It's predictable, reads the lane extremely well, forgiving, never over reacts, and the "Activator" coverstock is extremely durable - I've wet sanded mine hundreds of times, and it still looks like new. Mine is drilled full stacked leverage - Pin is at 1:30 from my ring finger, CG directly below, both 3 3/8" from my PAP. I keep the surface wet sanded at 600, and it seldom disappoints - I've shot several 750+ triples with this ball - Sometimes I have to put it away, but not often - Just moving left usually gets me through the night. Don't try to shoot ten pins with it - Bring your plastic ball for that. I wish Brunswick would release a ball with the Red Alert core, and wrap it with the Activator coverstock instead of "Powr-Koil 18" - and call it the "Zone From Hell" ;)

The Brunswick Inferno ball is excellent. I bought this ball one week before bowling in the Intercollegiate National Championship Tournament. After throwing in one practice session I could tell it was an awesome ball. It had a good, strong roll in the midlanes and definitely did not quit on the backend. I ended up throwing the ball throughout the entire tournament. We won the national championship that year. This ball is the first one out of the bag when I bowl at a new center. It's the most predictable thing I own. I've thrown 2 300's and an 800 with it. It's great on wood lanes, or a slightly broken down condition on synthetics.
