What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
As you have seen from our past reviews sometimes the balls just do not work out for us. The original Break Point and I did not match up well. Do not know why but it was not one of my favorite balls.
The pearl looks like a ball I would like. I went with a pretty standard layout so that I could get a good read on this ball. The pearlized S73 cover combined with a even stronger weight block from the original made me think this was going to be a good piece of equipment.
This layout usually lets me do a lot on the lane. I can generally play anywhere from up the outside to extremely deep and still get the recovery and power I need at the pins.
Lets see!
What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
Perfect, perfect, perfect. Every once in a while the ball that you were maybe a little up int he air about comes through. I loved the way this ball rolled for me. It was a perfect mixture of control and power. After throwing this ball I actually think that if I would have taken the time and played with the coverstock on the Break Point I may have liked it more.
The Break Point Pearl got through the heads with ease and did not seem to be too effected by any early friction. It picked up a super strong roll in the mid-lane (reminded me of my Break S75) and continued that strong motion right through the back ends and straight through the pins.
This is the type of ball I love, it makes my job easy....Get a Break Point Pearl!

After watching a few videos of this ball we decided that this ball would be a good choice.
Bowler Specs:
rev rate - 325-375 rpms
ball speed - 14-15 mph
axis tilt - low
axis rotation - high
layout:
55x5x35
no hole
Since he is a fairly rev dominate bowler, we wanted a coverstock that would get down the lane easily but with a strong core to help his entry angle.
The Break Point Pearl was actually cleaner down than the lane than I though it was going to be. He actually was able to move 4 to 5 boards farther right and the backend action was unbelievably aggressive. As soon as the ball saw friction it was dead left, this translated into a massive amount of pin carry for him.
The Break Point Pearl is a great piece of equipment for rev dominate players who is looking for something to increase their entry angle to the pocket.

With the addition of a flip block to the proven Break Core and the S73 Pearl coverstock, this ball really turns the corner! The Break Point Pearl really gets through the heads nicely but doesn't go too long to ignore the midlane, which is something I always look for in a pearl ball. Once it hits the backend is when this ball really shines! With a strong but predictable move this ball is a winner! Thanks 900 Global for another great release!

- Step 1. Identify your Bowling style. In order to accurately determine a drilling pattern and final ball surface, you must first identify your personal bowling characteristics; these three key factors must be determined.
- 1. Bowlers Ball Speed
- 2. Bowler Rev Rate
- 3. Bowlers Axis Angle of Rotation
- Chose the number below in each category that best describes your bowling style.
- Step 1:
- Ball Speed 1 = slower, 2 = average, 3 = faster
- Ball rev Rate (RMPs) 1 = cranker (18 or more), 2 = tweener (13-17), 3 = stroker (12 or less)
- Axis angle Rotation (side roll) select from one, two, or three
- Step 2: Total your numbers up from ball speed, rev rate, and axis rotation. Use that number to select your drilling pattern.
- Step 3: Layout must be based on your Positive Axis Point, illustrations are all based off a 5-1/2 over PAP.
- Step 3: Choose your lane condition.
- Step 4: Adjust surface.
