900 Global has designed a ball that will take your game to the next level... and you can take that to the BANK!
The Bank features our newest core design “Self Righting Core” (SRC). The SRC is both homogeneous in nature and also mono-monostatic. The unique core shape contains only one stable point. Unlike all other cores in the industry the SRC core will always move and twist to its stable position regardless of how or where it is placed. It will right it self!
Our testing indicated that when in rotation the core shape easily moves without resistance or hesitation in seeking the stable spot helping give the bank greater ease in transitioning through the phases of ball motion. Other cores on the market that have multiple stable, or flat spots, must expend additional energy to move off of that position and thus not efficiently and effectively optimize energy transfer to yield maximum ball reaction. The SRC, once in motion, does not need to expend additional energy to seek its sole stable position and therefore creates optimum ball reaction for the bowler.
An additional benefit of the SRC is the value of the “Moment Arm”. The moment arm measures the likelihood of a force to rotate an object about any given axis. The larger the moment arm the greater amount of loping and imbalance forces the core will have during rotation. This effect leads to increased energy retention. The SRC has the greatest moment arm available. The combination of having the greatest moment arm and only one stable point creating the least resistance gives The Bank a unique and powerful motion. Bank Review from Walter Ray Williams Jr.
"The Bank is a great complement to the other balls in the line this year, a good aggressive ball that handles oil. The core and coverstockare a perfect match and transition well off the breakpoint in a firm predictable manner even on wetter conditions. The Bank allows me the flexibility to play multiple angles and maintain excellent carry from even the deeper parts of the lane. What I found very appealing was the way the Bank retained its energy, this upped my carry percentage."

900 Global's Bank features their new Self Righting Core.
Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 5 1/2" above ring finger
Mass Bias Position - 4 1/2" from PAP
CG Placement - center of grip
Balance Hole - n/a
Surface Preparation - Out of Box (4000 Grit Abralon)
What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
With the new 900 Global Bank I was wanting to see how aggressive this ball could be while still keeping it smooth enough that it could be used during normal league play. Some of the high performance balls we drill are so strong
that really they would not last an entire game on a house shot because they react so strong.
By placing the pin 5 1/2" from my PAP and placing it above the fingers I figured I would create enough skid to have the ball retain energy for the back making it very angular off the break point.
What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
Sometimes when you read up about a ball you think it is all just hype and course it is the best ball they ever made.
Not the case with the Bank, I really feel that to this point this is the best ball 900 Global has ever made. I guess I am a believer in their new Self Righting Core and its effect on ball motion.
For a 4000 Grit Abralon finish the ball clears the heads smoothly and allows you to play anywhere you want on the lane. As the ball transitions through the mids and into the backend you can see the ball wanted to just go left off the point, and it does.
If you think about what they are saying with this core; "the core shape contains only one stable point" You can see that the ball is just
trying to get to that point and that is what makes the ball react so strong off the break point. My discussions with 900 Global are that
the use of this core with variable coverstock will allow them to really give you multiple ball reactions using stronger coverstocks because of this core shape.

I first tested this ball on the WTBA Athens oil pattern. This ball gave me recovery that no one else could match, along with continuation through the pins that was something else. The ball motion was a very unique mix of a strong midlane roll, extreme continuation through the pins, and quite a bit more “pop” at the break point then I expected. I’m not exactly sure what the deal behind the SRC core is, but it rolls great in this ball.
The Bank was just about 7 and 4 stronger then my Break Out with a similar layout, but the pin over my ring finger. As strong as this ball is, it was still easy to get down the lane. This is a very strong mix of cover and core and doesn’t need a lot of surface to do some tricks!
I was also able to test this ball on one of the new USBC White patterns, and it shined equally well on this. It was about 5 and 3 stronger then my Break Out on this pattern due to the larger oil wall on this pattern. It again gave me excellent midlane role, a strong move of the hook spot, and amazing continuation through the pins. All in all, I couldn’t ask for anything more in a high end ball!

900 Global Drilling Pattern Selector
In order to accurately determine a drilling pattern and final ball surface, you must first identify your personal bowling characteristics; these three key factors must be determined.
- Bowlers Ball Speed
- Bowler Rev Rate
- Bowlers Axis Angle of Rotation
- Ball Speed 1 = slower, 2 = average, 3 = faster
- Ball rev Rate (RMPs) 1 = cranker (18 or more), 2 = tweener (13-17), 3 = stroker (12 or less)
- Axis angle Rotation (side roll) select from one, two, or three
Step 2: Total your numbers up from ball speed, rev rate, and axis rotation. Use that number to select your drilling pattern.
Step 3: Layout must be based on your Positive Axis Point, illustrations are all based off a 5-1/2 over PAP.
Step 3: Choose your lane condition.
Step 4: Adjust surface.
